In late 2000, Fitness Formula opened its Union Station location, at 444 W. Jackson Street in the heart of Chicago's loop business district. Located at street level directly above the underground Union Station train center, the club serves city and suburban commuter traffic and the fast growing residential districts in the loop, near west and near south sides.
The Union Station location is the center hub connecting Fitness Formula's current and future locations in our development of a comprehensive network of health, fitness and wellness clubs. The 85,000 square foot multi purpose facility is by far the largest fitness club downtown, perfect for corporations and commuters.
Fitness Formula formed a strategic alliance with Rush Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center, one of the nation's premier research and teaching hospitals for the Union Station location. In addition to being an investor partner, Rush provides medical and rehabilitative services, corporate health and wellness programs and a mutual member/patient referral network with our network of clubs.
The site was formerly the home of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. The column free design in Chicago's loop lends itself perfectly to our open, horizontal floor plan for the main fitness activities and programs.
Easy access for train and expressway commuters and local residents make this an optimal site for the growth of our Multiclub reciprocity membership. Many members enroll in the Multiclub membership to access convenient work outs close to home and close to work - at any of the Fitness Formula Clubs. Convenient reduced rate parking for members is available in the Amtrak garage adjacent to the club at the corner of Jackson and Canal streets.
