FFC Oak Park Staff & Members Use AED to Rescue fellow Member On Monday, May 5th the Oak Park Fire Department recognized six Fitness Formula Club Oak Park employees and three FFC Oak Park members in a Commendation Ceremony for their team effort to save a member's life. Member Rick Prescott collapsed during his cardio workout at the club on the evening of March 3rd. Members Amy Mozina (RN), Dr. David Muzic, Joe DiCianni, and employees Jeff Long, Kristen Stafford, Max VanMany, Lisa Gregorich, Chris Jaeger, and Dave Harvat all worked together with the assistance of the AED unit to bring Rick back to life. While the doctor and nurse ultimately took control of the situation, the FFC staff played an important role that evening with their quick response. While AED's are now standard in health clubs everywhere, that does not necessarily mean all the employees have undergone the proper CPR training. At Fitness Formula Clubs it is a condition of employment for Managers and Trainers to have CPR & AED certified training. Fitness Formula Clubs also review their emergency response policies on a quarterly basis. Mr. Prescott's wife, Ruth, wrote a gracious letter to the Oak Leaves personally thanking Oak Park General Manager Jeff Long, members and staff for their quick response whose actions ultimately saved her husband's life. Mr. Prescott underwent triple bypass on March 8 and is recovering well. Each person named above who assisted in the situation received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Oak Park Fire Department.
