1. Where is the Club located?
The Club is located at 1114 Lake Street, one half block east of Harlem Avenue on the north side of the street. The Metra Union Pacific West Line, CTA Green Line and Pace Bus Line all stop within one block of the Club.
2. What are the Club hours?
On weekdays the Club is open on the following 24 Hour basis: from 4:30am Mondays through 9:30pm Fridays. The Club is open weekends on Saturday and Sunday from 7:00am to 8:00pm. Most of our locations are open 365 days a year.
3. What is the size of the facility?
It’s big. 50,000 square feet with high ceilings including panoramic windows from all coed areas of the Club, basketball court, indoor pool, climbing wall, full-service spa, several group exercise studios, outdoor sundeck and cafe.
4. Where is the best place to park?
In the adjacent Oak Park Village garage immediately to the north of the Club. The Club has two entrances: a front entrance on Lake Street and a rear entrance from the garage. The childcare center is conveniently located just inside the rear entrance at ground level. Parking in the garage is FREE the first hour and $1 for the second hour. The fee increases $1 per half hour after that. The club is validating parking tickets at the front desk which gives the SECOND HOUR FREE.
5. What amenities does your locker rooms have?
The men’s and women’s locker rooms include complimentary full height cherry wood daily changing lockers, towel service, personal hair dryers, individual showers, and flat screen TV. Rental storage lockers are also available on a first come first serve basis in sizes ranging from full length to small.
6. Do you offer Group Exercise Classes?
Fitness Formula Clubs offers a wide variety of innovative, company branded group fitness classes for all ages and levels that combine cardiovascular training with strength training, stretching, core building, and sports driven functionality. Our classes are taught only by Certified Professionals. Classes are held in our custom designed studios and our Junior Olympic swimming pool and include yoga, cardio dance, cardio kickboxing, FitFlex, Hydro-Fit, Masters Swim, Spinning, Pilates, and Muscle Strength Conditioning to name a few. 8. How long has Fitness Formula Clubs been around?
Since 1984. The company was founded by Gale Landers, the sole owner of the parent company. Mr. Landers is a former resident of Oak Park having lived there for twelve years.
9. What is a “Family” Membership?
A Family Membership is at least three people from the same immediate family that can provide proof of cohabitation and that includes a single parent or married or engaged couple with dependants between the ages of 14 and 20 all residing at the same address.
10. What is a “Junior” Membership”?
Junior Membership consists of individuals 3 months to 13 years of age. Child care and certain children's programming is included in Kids Club with a Junior Membership. The basketball gymnasium is open to Junior Members 9 months and up. The swimming pool may be used by Junior Members 9 months and up during Family Hours only. The rock climbing wall may be used by Junior Members who are at least 5 years old and complete the wall certification & orientation with their parent/guardian. Whirlpool and steam room use by all Junior Members is prohibited. All Junior Members must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who have a Fitness Formula Clubs Oak Park Membership.
11. What are Family Hours?
Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00pm to 5:00pm for Junior Members ages 9 months to 13 years, and their parents or guardian. The club will allow access to the pool, basketball court and climbing wall areas for children of specific ages during family hours (refer to Junior Membership above).
12. Will there be extra costs in the Club after the monthly dues?
Your membership comes with a host of free amenities you won’t receive at most other clubs including free towels, full size daily changing lockers, a comprehensive fitness assessment, group exercise classes, our exclusive Activtrax® workouts, and educational seminars. Additional fees are required for select premium services such as personal training, spa, tanning, and certain short term specialty programs.
13. Do you have weight loss programs?
Great ones. Our professionally certified staff have designed hundreds of weight loss programs that combine the proper balance of nutrition and exercise based on each individual’s needs and requirements. We have been doing it for over twenty years. Pick up the Fitness & Nutrition Services brochure (FNS) at the Club.
14. Will I be able to bring guests?
Absolutely. You can bring in a guest for a full day for $20 and proper photo id.
15. How long is your membership agreement?
Unlike most clubs that are two or three years, our membership is only a
12-month membership, and then continues month by month as long as you want
to be a member.
